Election day

I will go to vote in the next elections. I think, that it is an important situation, because there it will decide the public politics of the next government. ¿We will continue advancing into a free education an into a system that brings people social rights or we will a rupture and will be sent back into the market principles? These answers can be solved in that day. Although, I think that we must be critics, with the electoral system, in the campaigns there always appear a lot candidates that only one a place in the public space, no because the really want a social change, but only because that report them private benefits. Someone who wants to represent people, don’t have to be cute or blonde or white, the first requirement is to be responsible and compromise in representing people, in putting their interests at first. I think that all of us are already involve in politics, because we are part of a kind of society so we can make changes and if they don’t make, we are also responsible for keeping things like there are.

The best concert ever

To talk about the best concert I have ever gone, I need to start saying that I am not a fanatic of music or concerts at all, so the list of the concert in which I have been present is too short. Even though, I had gone a few of them, and that one which I had more enjoyed between all of them, Is  a concert of Queen in 2008. Obviously, there was not a “real” concert of Queen, because it took place without Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991. In this concert, was Paul Rodgers as singer, replacing Freddie, I think even when it is accepted that his cant, never, be the same, just the simple fact of listening in live a group that like you a lot, it is an unforgettable moment. Also, I must say, that I went with my dad, a real fan of Queen who really knows all the songs, so that made a special moment, in which we, share a good time like father and soon.

A Country I would like to visit

Hello,

I think that the country which I will love to visit is Egypt. I imagine that walking behind ancient pyramids would be amazing, but on the other hand I have to admit that I don’t know really much about this country, it is only a felling, even a desire of coming true a wish that I have had since I was a child. It is known that it is a place full of history, where you can find the beginnings of the civilization. In there I think that I will go to museums, and I would like to see the mommys and the graves of ancient pharaohs. Even though I think that I imagine Egypt as a cultural place, very nice for going as a tourist, I don’t imagine myself living, studying or working there, principally because of the weather, so warm and too much sand for a person who prefers winter. I hope you like my destiny and also I hope that I can someday go to there.

I’m José López, i have 19 years old and I’m studying sociology at Universidad de Chile.

On one hand, I think that I really don’t have a very good level of English, in part because in my school the English weren’t too important, and also because in my family nobody speaks very fluently. In my opinion, one of my weaknesses is speaking in public, maybe talking or having a conversation it isn´t so difficult for me if I’m relaxed, but when you have to talk in front of more people I get nervous and I immediately forgot all my English knowledge.

On the other hand, I think that reading to me it is easier than other things in English, while I’m not and expert, I can read without big problems novels and academic papers for my career.

My expectations for this class, are in first place to continue improving my English writing and also to learn more words and expressions to amplify my vocabulary, so then I can speak more fluently.
